Hino Projects Record 700 Series Year

2026 is set to be a record-breaking year for Hino Australia’s heavy-duty model, the 700 Series.

With its expanded 700 Series model range now in dealerships, 2026 is set to be a record-breaking year for Hino Australia’s heavy-duty model.

“Increased customer enquiry and a healthy order bank leading into the start of the year has supported our decision to further increase production for 700 Series for 2026 – we are confident this year will be our strongest year ever for 700 Series sales,” said Richard Emery, President and CEO of Hino Australia.

“Our order bank continues to grow on the back of our expanded range, and our order intake has tripled over the last six months, which is a strong start,” continued Mr Emery.

“Having met Euro 6 emissions at its launch in 2021, the Hino 700 Series has built a reputation of a versatile heavy-duty truck that delivers proven reliability, advanced safety, superior technology and operational efficiency,” he continued.

“Providing additional driveline and axle configuration options enables 700 Series customers to seek greater operational efficiency and further productivity improvements.

“With additional supply available from Hino Motors, Ltd. in Japan, we expect to see a record year with increased interest across key applications such as general freight, refrigeration, construction, waste, traffic management and civil works,” said Mr Emery.

Additional models provide opportunities for new applications

The expanded range of 700 Series trucks offer increased power, more transmission options and greater adaptability across a wider range of applications.

The availability of the new Hino M112 12-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) with either the proven A09C or E13C engine provides Hino with eleven additional 700 Series models.

The new FH1836 4x2, FS2636 6x4 and FY3036 8x4 models feature the Hino M112 12-speed AMT mated to the reliable A09C-VN engine, which produces peak power of 360hp (265kW) and 1569Nm of torque delivered from 1,100 to 1,600 rpm.

“The new 360hp with 12-speed AMT drivelines are well suited to the stop-start demands of metropolitan general freight and vocational applications - they are also ideal for heavy rigid customers driving in regional areas, or those requiring more towing capability than the existing 320hp automatic models can deliver,” said Daniel Petrovski, Department Manager of Product Strategy.

“All of the new driveline combinations with the 12-speed AMT feature a 3.9:1 final drive ratio, meaning the new models sit at about 1,600rpm while cruising at 100km/h in top gear.

“The ability to select 11th gear at 100km/h and ascend inclines at full power makes the new models particularly well suited to customers seeking a fuel-efficient highway operational vehicle that also delivers the performance required for Australia’s regional highways,” said Mr Petrovski.

The FS2845 – available with either an airbag or leaf spring drive axle – utilises the E13C 13 litre engine and the new M112 Hino 12-speed AMT to deliver 450hp (331kW) and 2157Nm of torque.

“It’s an ideal truck for councils and civil works operators that require the flexibility to operate as a rigid tipper and to also tow a pig or dog trailer.

“The Hino 700 Series range is expansive with 31 models that appeal to almost any operation,” said Mr Petrovski.

The already existing range offers FH 1832 4x2, FR 2632 6x2 and FS 2632 6x4 models with the A09C engine delivering 320hp and 1275Nm via a six-speed Allison 3200 true automatic transmission, while the FY 3036 8x4 models deliver 360hp and 1569Nm via the larger and stronger six-speed Allison 4400 true automatic transmission.

The FS 2848 6x4, SS 2848 6x4 and FY 3248 8x4 models with the 13 litre E13C 480hp 2157Nm engine models is also available with the popular ZF 16-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), the TraXon TX 2441TO, which features the market-leading ZF intarder.

“Both the A09C and E13C engines comply with Euro 6 emission standards through a combination of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and the ever-reliable Hino Diesel Particulate Active Reduction Filter (DPR),” he said.

Hino Quality, Durability and Reliability

Hino Australia attributes its global guiding design and manufacturing philosophy of Quality, Durability and Reliability as a key contributor to the success of 700 Series.

Safety is also crucial to the success of the Hino 700 Series, which sets the benchmark for safety in Hino Australia’s lineup with the inclusion of Driver Monitor (DM) in the comprehensive Hino SmartSafe safety package, which also features a Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and a Reverse Camera.

The Hino Advantage

Like all Hino products, the 700 Series is supported by Hino Advantage suite of business solutions that are designed to reduce costs over the life of the vehicle.

From 1 January, 2026, all Hino 700 Series trucks are covered by a 5 year or 600,000 kilometre standard warranty (whichever comes first).

“Coupled with 5 Years Roadside Assist, this provides customers with added peace of mind and greater confidence,” said Hino Australia’s Daniel Petrovski.

Another feature is Hino-Connect which is standard on all 700 Series – it is an Australian-built and designed system that provides customers with real-time vehicle and driver performance data, fuel usage reports, maintenance tracking and fleet security alerts.

“Other Hino Advantage solutions available on all Hino models include Capped Price Servicing, Hino Genuine Parts, 24/7 Hino Roadside Assist, our finance options, and customer support provisions via our Customer Care Centre,” Mr Petrovski concluded.
